Regulatory Signs

Regulatory signs instruct drivers on what they must or must not do. Disobeying these signs is a traffic offence.

Stop Sign — You must come to a complete stop and yield to all traffic before proceeding.
Yield / Give Way — Slow down and give way to oncoming traffic at an intersection.
No Entry — Entry is prohibited. You may not drive into this road.
Speed Limit — Indicates the maximum speed allowed in km/h on that stretch of road.
No Overtaking — You may not pass the vehicle ahead on this road.
No U-Turn — Making a U-turn at this location is prohibited.
No Parking — Parking is not allowed in this area.
No Stopping — You may not stop your vehicle here, even temporarily.

Warning Signs

Warning signs alert you to potential dangers ahead. They are typically red triangles with a black pictogram. A white background means the sign is permanent; yellow means temporary.

Pedestrian Crossing — Watch for pedestrians crossing the road ahead.
Children Crossing — School zone: children may be crossing.
Traffic Signals Ahead — Traffic lights are ahead, be prepared to stop.
Roundabout Ahead — A roundabout is approaching, slow down and yield.
Steep Descent — The road descends steeply. Use a lower gear.
Series of Bends — Multiple curves ahead. Reduce your speed.
Cross Winds — Strong side winds may affect vehicle stability.
Animals Crossing — Wild or farm animals may be on the road.
